The Protector Series hard armor is waterproof and its ballistic performance is unaffected by either fresh or salt water (subjected to extreme testing—4 hours submerged). In laboratory testing, the standalone Protector Series hard armor manufactured by Line of Fire, Inc. defeated both the .44 magnum (SJHP, 240 grain at 1,430 ft/s) and the hardened steel Flechette with very minimal backface. Further laboratory testing confirms that the Protector Series standalone armor from Line of Fire, Inc. is a Level III rated plate at a distance of four hundred meters (400m or 1,312 feet).
